Vågsøy Sweater
The Vågsøy jumper is heavily inspired by the Dale of Norway Cortina jumper from 1956, this reinterpretation offers the look of a knitted jumper with raglan sleeves. The Vågsøy wool jumper is made from 100% lightweight wool, has slightly wide sleeves and a crew neck that is lined with skin-soft merino wool for added comfort.
A revolutionary new wool treatment with natural, non-toxic salts makes the Vågsøy wool jumper soft and machine washable.
The pattern comes from the Dale of Norway Cortina jumper from 1956 - the very first Dale of Norway Olympic jumper made for the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina d'Ampezzo. The Cortina pattern embodies the essence of Norwegian tradition and has become one of Norway's most popular patterns.
Vågsøy is an island on the outer coast of Nordfjorden, one of the fjords on Norway's west coast. The island is home to the town of Måløy, one of Norway's most important fishing ports.
