85311 Alvøy Quilted Jacket
Combining function and fashion, the knit and wool insulated Alvøy jacket is a new take on the traditional quilted jacket. Instead of the traditional down filling, the Alvøy is padded with wool filling from Norwegian sheep. This is a sustainable and animal-friendly alternative to synthetic fiber and down fillings.
The Alvøy jacket has a large, comfortable hood with drawstring, a full-length front zipper and front pockets with zippers. The color scheme is inspired by the mountains on the west coast of Norway. So you can wear the Alvøy jacket as a fashion piece in the city or as a statement piece on the slopes.
The Alvøy jacket is made of three layers of wool: A water-repellent outer layer of 100% skin-soft merino wool, a soft lining of superfine merino wool, and a Lavalan filling of traceable Norwegian virgin wool. Because the Lavalan filling is made of wool, it has excellent insulating and moisture-wicking properties and is also odor-resistant.
Norwegian wool is one of the most animal-friendly textile fibers in the world. It is obtained from sheep that are known to roam free and graze on natural pastures in the vast Norwegian mountain regions. The Alvøy jacket is insulated with Norwegian wool.
The Alvøy jacket is named after a small island on the west coast of Norway. Its design is based on the famous Norwegian Sotra sweater, easily recognizable by its pattern of repeating eight-petaled roses. (The original Sotra sweater was part of our collection in the early 1990s).
