96361 Vardåsen Women’s Jumper
The Vardåsen is a lightweight, soft merino wool jumper characterised by intricate patterns and a slim, sporty silhouette. Thanks to its itch-free feel and half-height zip, it is ideal as a ski jumper, offering clean lines and versatile styling options – from crisp mornings in the Alps to relaxed après-ski moments and everyday city looks.
It is crafted from 100% skin-soft merino wool using a sophisticated flat-knit technique and is as meticulously finished on the inside as it is striking on the outside. A dynamic all-over pattern lends depth and energy, firmly anchoring the design in the Norwegian knitwear tradition. Rooted in tradition yet designed for movement, Vardåsen presents a confident expression of Dale of Norway’s knitwear heritage in a contemporary form. Motifs from the
archive – including the eight-petalled rose, classic louse patterns and traditional border elements – are reinterpreted with embossed linear details, creating a textured, modern surface that is suitable for light layered looks or as a standalone piece.

History:
The ‘Vardåsen’ design builds on decades of craftsmanship at Dale of Norway. Drawing on our extensive archive, it combines characteristic details of the legendary Peace jumper, classic Luse patterns and the distinctive eight-petalled rose – a symbol that has defined Norwegian knitwear for generations. These historical elements have been carefully reinterpreted to create a seamless dialogue between past and present, reflecting Dale of Norway’s enduring commitment to quality, tradition and timeless Norwegian design.
Vardåsen is a ski resort in Asker, just a 30-minute drive from Oslo city centre. Its name derives from the signal fires (‘varde’) that the Vikings once set up on mountain peaks and high ridges as an early warning system. These signal fires were visible from peak to peak – and when danger threatened, fires were lit to sound the alarm across the land.
